We have just bottled our 2012 Coonawarra Cabernet. Very exciting! We blended in 5% 2013 Coonawarra Merlot and 5% 2013 McLaren Vale Cabernet Franc. The wine looks great. Can’t wait to release it in about 4 years time.

Fortunately, unlike 2011, the 2012 vintage was very good for Will Taylor Wines – low yields and very high quality fruit. As a result, we have a cracking 2012 Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon in barrel. The plan, at this stage, is to bottle it in about October 2013. It will not be released until it hits the right drinking window, probably about 4 years down the track.
The 2011 vintage has been a shocker in most of Australia. There will be some good wines made, but consumers will need to be very selective when purchasing 2011 wines.
As a result, Will Taylor has decided not to make any wines this year. This is disappointing, as we particularly wanted to make an outstanding Coonawarra Cabernet from 2011. However, the credibility of the brand is paramount. We refuse to release an ordinary wine under our label.
We have launched our new website. Please check back for the latest news and reviews from Will Taylor Wines.
